A Writers Roomance...
One month into the Mozart in the Jungle writer's room, Matt asked Kate out for lemonade because he "needed a female perspective" on a romantic comedy he was working on. We started writing together every day at museums, diners, pretty much everywhere, and on July 5th, like a couple of nervous school-kids, we finally kissed! (Matt literally said "You have to know, I have an enormous school-boy crush on you," while Kate fidgeted and looked at her orange shoes.)
The Hollywood Bowl was the spot for our first official date where we saw the LA Phil.
By date #4, a Supermoon hike in Coldwater Canyon, we knew it was True Love.

We do a lot of writing at Mel's Diner on Sunset Boulevard.
We happened to give each other the EXACT same Christmas present without ever speaking two words about what we wanted!
We wrote our Season Two Mozart in the Jungle Episode in Paris at a cafe called La Palette where it's said that artists during the Golden Age would exchange a painting for a meal.
Fun fact: Translated into English, Gersten and Shire mean Barley Village.
